Up close and personal with the glacier We decided to stop and take a break, and at this point, the highway passes very close to the glacier, so the group decided to walk out on the ice.

Andy walking along the edge of fast moving water This looks somewhat precarious (and is) since one slip and you would be down in the freezing water. This is water runoff from the glacier
(I don't think the glacier is melting that fast, but just seasonal melting of snow)

Here's Bud out on the glacier Since Bud had done this before, he ventured out on the ice so we could take a picture.

Rhoda is up to her father-in-law's challenge
Bud in the background Rhoda also ventured out on the glacier, and normally I would do this, but I was wearing my cowboy boots, and didn't feel that they would provide sure footing. (I was a'scared I might fall)
