The "regulars" sitting on Buoy 9 |
As we continued out of the harbor, we noticed the sea lions swimming and
some would get out and sit on Buoy 9. We joked that they were so
used to this boat tour that they said to each other " Hey guys, its
ten o'clock, time to get to Buoy 9 and wave to the crowd".
The brochure published by Stan Stephens Cruises shows that Buoy 9 is
"a popular hangout for sea lions". We can attest to that. |
One of the tankers coming in to Valdez |
These things are HUGE (more about that later). As you can see by how
high it's riding in the water, this one is empty. |
Andy, Ted Rhoda, and Bud |
Although you can see better outside, after a bit, coming inside feels
good and warm. |
We're getting closer to Columbia Glacier |
What was most noticeable about moving closer to the glacier was how much
the temperature dropped. |
